Inspiration, Information and Linky Party Invite

Hello, Friends!

Kathy here with another dose of inspirational projects from our fabulous design team!  With summer winding down and school winding up, I know everyone is extra busy, and when you do have time to get your craft on, it's nice to have ideas to wake up your creativity, so I'll be sharing some fabulous projects with you here today.

Before I get into that, I want to remind you about the wonderful Summer Super Pack Blowout Sale.  Crafty Secrets is going all digital, but before we can really do that, we have to empty out our US warehouse.  Sandy has been busy putting together some amazing creativity kits for you to enjoy.  Right now, I only have photos of the Summer kit, but there is a Halloween kit, Christmas kit, Spring kit and others in the works, so be sure to check back here and cash in on this amazing opportunity.  Here's a peeky at what you get in the Summer Super Pack:

This pack is valued at nearly $80, and it is yours for $19.95 plus $4.95 Priority Shipping.  One of our lovely customers left this comment on our Facebook Page:
"Fabulous package. I couldn't believe everything I got. Now to get busy using it."

Now, on to some delightful projects from our very talented design team:

Diane Hover has been making some great "off the page" projects using our digital Radiant Papers  and her electronic cutting machine.  Check out this clever autumn crate she made out of paper!  The cute photo on the end is made with our Digital Garden Papers.  This set of papers is loaded with beautiful ephemera as well as wonderful images that make it easy to put a quick card or project together because everything goes together.  I love having printed images to use with beautiful papers, don't you?

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cqxUqBgjj6M/U_XNqwEzJQI/AAAAAAAAKek/ZSNhR_4-aL4/s1600/ca%2Bcs%2Bcrate2.jpg

Gloria Stengel has been putting together a wonderful gift set using  our Farm Images and Stamps. She promises a "big reveal" for our Linky Party on Monday, September 1st.  Take a look at this chic "Country Blessings" tag she has made as one of the elements:

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YV6BGPCdJf4/U_QEzd8WQuI/AAAAAAAAcsg/nph2pjR1SXo/s1600/Rooster-1.jpg

Gloria used our Farm Fresh Creative Scraps to put this sweet tag together.  I love the little chicken tucked in behind the bow, and the great checkerboard and chicken wire papers that she found on our Creating with Vintage Patterns CD.  You'll want to keep an eye out on Gloria's blog as she reveals each new addition to this Country French set.

Darlene Pavlick has also put together a really cute desk set made with papers from our Radiant Papers and the dragonfly from our beautiful Digital Summer Printable Sheet. The little holder contains cute notecards, and would make a wonderful gift.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8S_Wb9DA-5k/U_Ny36P0vbI/AAAAAAAAcH4/k4oQ3EDqrRg/s1600/CS%2BDT%2Bproject%2B08-22-14%2B003.JPG

She's added stamped images from several different sets, and you can find all the links in THIS blog post.

I have been digging into my Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD and have found some truly gorgeous images there.  I made this Life as Art Card using my Paintshop Pro tools and a little digital crafting.  The more I work with digital, the more I love it.  I was able to write my own sentiment right on the painter's palette, and then print it off.  So cool!  I also figured out how to digitally match papers to my project, and share about that in the blog post.

DT member Melody Clement has been working with our wonderful Sew Decorative CD.
She shares some wonderful ideas for working with digital images as well as this pretty card:

http://papermelodys.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/sew-wonderful-1.jpg?w=560&h=421

I just love the way she printed her images so that the dress form lines up perfectly with her sentiment.  And that bow makes me feel a little weak in the knees!

Be sure to check out Sheila Rumney's wonderful Photoshop Friday post where she shares a tutorial for this soft, romantic layout celebrating her anniversary.  I love how dimensional this looks, even though it is an all digital project.  It's gorgeous!

Dale and I took advantage of a beautiful weekend, and escaped to Topsail Island for the day.  I had been longing for a walk on the shore, and made this Mermaid Tag using another image from Creating with Vintage IllustrationsI wanted to use our pretty Digital Mermaids Stamps  along with the beautiful beach scene from the CD.  I threw in some shells I'd gathered for good measure.

 http://www.kathybydesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Mermaid-Tag-01-708x1024.jpg

I'm sure many of you are anticipating a nice, long Labor Day Weekend.  Be sure to set aside some time to be in your craft room, as Monday is the launch of our September Linky party.  There will be another opportunity to win a $50 gift certificate to our online store, and everyone who plays along receives a $6 store credit.  The design team has been challenged to create tutorials with a Fall/Halloween theme, so it should be a really fun party.  I look forward to seeing you there!  I hope you have a safe and FUN Labor Day weekend, as we all say good-bye to summer and welcome Fall.

On behalf of Sandy Redburn (whose daughter will be married in about a week) I wish you joy and creativity!

Cheerio,

kathy

August Linky Party Winner and DT Samples

Hello Friends!

Did you all have a great weekend?  This is the first weekend in ages that we did not have rain, so Dale and I ran away for a quick overnight trip to the beach.  Of course, it started to rain almost as soon as we arrived, but we just got in the car and drove down the beach until we reached an area where the storm had already passed.  We had the whole beach practically to ourselves and it was glorious.  We walked on the beach for miles, and Dale found more than 2 dozen shark teeth to add to his collection.  I found a few pieces of beach glass, so we were both happy as clams.  After a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, we went right back to the beach and walked until sunset.  I didn't take my phone with me, so I have no pictures to share.  I'll do better next time, I promise!  I hope your weekend was equally relaxing.

Well, we have a winner for the August Linky Party!  This month, we had 13 entries.  I went to random.org and punched in the numbers and here's what came up:

True Random Number Generator 11 Powered by RANDOM.ORG

Number 11 is Birgit!  Congratulations, Birgit!  You have won the $50 shopping spree at Crafty Secrets Crafty Vintage Girl Online Store.   Here's a peeky at Birgit's winning entry:

 http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SStmOtgqe4s/U-3665265HI/AAAAAAAAEu4/NcBxQAjPces/s320/3014%2B002.JPG

Birgit used our Garden Creative Scraps to make two beautiful cards.  We're so glad you played along.  Sandy will contact you with a code for you to use on your shopping spree. She'll also contact the rest of the clever folks who played along to give you the code for your $6 credit at the online store.  Many thanks to all who participated.  There were some great projects this month.  I can't wait to see what you all bring to the September Linky Party which will open on Monday, September 1, 2014.

The design team has been working up some fabulous samples to inspire your creativity.  I just love this clever card DT Melody Clement made by combining our Barber Shop Kit with our Mustache Men Digital Art Stamps. All these wonderful papers came from the Barber Shop kit.  Isn't it fun?

http://papermelodys.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/mustache-birthday-1.jpg?w=560&h=702

Darlene Pavlick also used images from the Barber Shop Kit to make this cute snack/treat box. These would make fantastic gifts for the office, for teacher appreciation gifts,  or as stocking stuffers.  Yes, I said stocking stuffers!  Christmas will be here before we know it!

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-si6ilPDujn0/U-zKeQAuFAI/AAAAAAAAcDU/KgRP1v-tmWI/s1600/CS%2BAugust%2BProject%2B001.JPG

Sheila Rumney has a wonderful project and post where she shares this layout of her creative space.  Wouldn't you love to see this in person? She used papers from our Sew Decorative CD and Art Studio Digital Stamps.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-z4nRelrot-Q/U-iqLEobkTI/AAAAAAAANAE/eggIz_qMQhc/s1600/My+Studio.jpg

Just look at this darling card Shantaie Fowler made using this image from our Vintage Halloween Image and Journal Notes Booklet.  I love the sweet glittery frame in the background!

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/t1.0-9/10526012_792219927489282_8152909464437099334_n.jpg

These Halloween images are sweetly vintage and not at all "spooky."  I love them! Sandy has promised to put together a Fall themed Blowout Sale package along the same lines as our wonderful Summer Blowout Sale Kit.  Have you seen it yet?

http://craftyvintagegirl.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/u/summer-craftysecrfets-sale-pack_1.jpg  This amazing sale pack contains nearly $80 worth of Crafty Secrets goodies for just $19,95 plus $4.95 Priority shipping.  We are trying to empty out our U.S. warehouse so that Sandy can stop making the commute from her home in Canada.  It's an amazing deal. As soon as she has the Fall sale kit put together, I'll be sure to share it here.

If you'd like more Crafty Secrets inspiration, be sure to visit our wonderful Pinterest Page where you will find hundreds and hundreds of amazing samples, tutorials and ideas for using your Crafty Secret Goodies.  We also have a Crafty Secrets Facebook Page where we share product samples, news and other goodies.  Our goal is to keep you inspired!  Please let us know how we are doing.  If you have ideas for Digital Art Stamp sets or papers that you'd like us to develop, let us know!  Sandy has thousands and thousands of vintage images in her workroom.  What theme would you like to see next?

As always, thanks for stopping by.  I hope your week is off to a good start, and on behalf of Sandy Redburn, I wish you a week filled with joy and creativity!

Kathy Clement

More Design Team Inspiration, Summer Blowout Sale and Linky Party Invite

Hello, Friends!

I am having such a great morning!  We've been socked in with grey skies and torrential downpours for the past week.  At first, it was kind of cozy, being tucked in the studio, working while the rain fell.  Then, after a couple of days, it got a little aggravating, getting soaking wet to check the mail, go buy groceries, take out the trash.  Just as I was ready to crawl into bed and hibernate, the sun decided to break through!  Hooray for sunshine!  It's amazing how much more energy I have today because Mr. Sun is shining brightly, the butterflies have resumed their fluttering ballet and even the birds are rejoicing.  It's a perfect day to share some fresh design team inspiration with you!

Did you see the fabulous masculine card DT member Darlene Pavlick created with papers from our Vintage Illustrations CD and our Car Classics Digital Art Stamps?  I love the monochromatic color scheme and the amazing card design. It's perfect for all the manly men in your life. She shares info on how she put this card together in her blog post.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/t1.0-9/10568798_10152313113932297_6371508186067546421_n.jpg

In spite of the rain, I found sunshine in this Butterfly Chase Card .  It's a basic gatefold card that uses a medallion front for a fancy finish.  The focal image is from the Vintage Illustrations CD and that beautiful pink damask is from the Vintage Patterns CD.

http://www.kathybydesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Butterfly-Chase-01-892x1024.jpg

Even though she's knee-deep in school preparations, DT member Michele Kovack found time to put together this flirty, feminine card using a digital image from our Love and Support Digital Art Stamps.  I am totally in love with her bow/flower combination and the soft coloring she uses.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OMOMjfyr99Y/U-oM6lsADLI/AAAAAAAARwE/8tOEG1h1zXk/s1600/breastcancer.jpg

Sheila Rumney always does such a great job of capturing life's special moments in her Photoshop Friday posts, and I love this sweet digital layout she shared using our Digital Garden papers. If you are wanting to learn how to use digital design, her tutorials are a fabulous source.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rky5xYxmmKc/U-Q_Euw0tLI/AAAAAAAAM-o/d1q8Cbh_2s0/s1600/Smile+Homecoming+2012.jpg

I know I shared a sample from DT member Diane Hover yesterday, but I simply must share the darling pincushions she made using our Printable Button Cards.  Wouldn't these make amazing gifts?  Although I'm not sure I could bear to part with them!

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-e1kqVjOAePs/U-jW6WbN4sI/AAAAAAAAKXo/kKDG06zvY2I/s1600/ca+cs+aug+wk2.jpg

Elizabeth Lincoln has the best sense of humor!  I had to chuckle this morning when I saw this whimsical card made with the frog in our Kewpies Digital Art Stamps.  It just leaps off the page!  I love the red eyes and the little fella that's playing the drums in the tall grass!

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Vow_ZIy8WYw/U-v5h54BiMI/AAAAAAAAAdc/67rONeWPgug/s1600/IMG_0535.jpg

OK!  These projects are as sunny as our weather today!  I just love them all!

I also want to remind you to join in the fun at our August Linky Party!  We have some great entries this time! Linky Party Attendee Cammie M was so inspired by Michele Kovack's design that she worked up a project of her own using our Cutie Cats Digital Art Stamps to make this adorable Back to School easel.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dEd73kHWDrw/U-d9VDuit9I/AAAAAAAADBU/KbB62YK7duE/s1600/IMG_7176_edited-1.jpg

I hope you will join in the fun!  Everyone receives a $6 store credit just for playing along, and one lucky winner is randomly selected to receive a $50 shopping spree!  We even included a FREE DOWNLOAD so that everyone can play along.  You can't beat that! Be sure to link up before midnight Pacific time, Sunday August 17th.  The big winner will be announced here on Tuesday, August 19th.

Finally, don't miss out on the opportunity to cash in on our big Summer Blowout SALE.  Each Priority Mailer contains more than $77 worth of Crafty Secrets Goodies for just $19.95 plus $4.95 S&H!  That's an incredible deal, and a chance to purchase a lot of crafting goodness.  Sandy needs to empty out her US warehouse, and we reap the benefits!

You may purchase as many of these creative kits as you like, but once they are gone, they are gone...so don't miss out!

Now I'm going to go get busy in my studio and get some work done.  August is our big family birthday month, and I haven't made a single card, so I'd better get busy!  Thanks for stopping by.  On behalf of Sandy Redburn...

I wish you joy and creativity!

You can order as many of these super summer sale kits as you'd like.  They'll make great birthday and Christmas gifts for all your crafty friends.  The link to finding these in the online store is Summer Super Pack Blowout.  No code is necessary, just click on the link to order.

I also have some wonderful DT samples to share with you today.  I'm loving the fresh inspiration from the newest members on the team.  Take a look at this adorable golf card that DT member Shantaie Fowler worked up with our digital Golf Time Stamps.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AIZdGSvLEQ4/U-E-r3iRIDI/AAAAAAAAtP0/v31QslnZ2Ig/s1600/IMG_0032.JPG

I love the way she cropped the image and the fresh colors are just so fun! You have to read how she achieved this glossy look...it's one of those "happy accidents" that we all love so much!

DT Member Melody Clement has a wonderful tutorial on her blog for creating this amazing wall hanging, just in time for all your fall celebrations.

http://papermelodys.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/cs-august-linky-1.jpg?w=560&h=713

Diane Hover, another new member on our team, created this sunny card using an image from our Fairy Printable Sheet.

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Kasn9dD7X5s/U5w1FaVaYvI/AAAAAAAAJz4/2tKcwRTTSCw/s1600/ca+sh+make+a+wish.jpg

I love the sunshine rays she created here.

Here's another look at a page from the gorgeous mini album, DT member Gloria Stengel created for our Linky Party.  She has a complete tutorial for making this amazing mini on her blog.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aSzxURz17NA/U9k88Ig6Q4I/AAAAAAAAcVI/f0sIk6rOtRE/s1600/Gloria-Aug-Linky-Page-4.jpg

And speaking of the Linky Party, there is still plenty of time for you to play along.  We had a little "glitch" with Linky tools, but that has all been fixed and everything is ready and waiting for your project to be linked up.  Each participant automatically receives a $6 credit to the online store, just for playing along.  And one lucky player will be randomly chosen to win a $50 shopping spree.  You have until 11:59PM Pacific Time on Sunday, August 17th to link up your project.  We even included a free downloadable image on the blog, so there's no excuse not to play!  The samples we've received so far are just fantastic!  Take a look at this gorgeous card that last month's winner Crafting Vicky made with our Sew Fashionista Digital Art Stamps:

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ki9nU8BEwDI/U-bM31CPYvI/AAAAAAAAVfM/L-uHLBb7TPU/s1600/sew+fashionista.JPG

You could be this month's winner!  But you can't win if you don't link up!

I'll be back tomorrow to share more DT inspiration with you.  In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying these last few glorious days of summer!

Cheerio,

August Linky Party....a little "Hiccup" with Linky tools.

Hello Friends! It appears we had a little issue with Linky Tools this morning, and some of your entries were accidentally deleted. If you have linked up a project, please check the blog and re-link if necessary. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience, but want to make sure all your lovely projects are entered! If you entered after 12:15 EST, you are probably fine. If you entered prior to that, you will need to relink. Thanks for understanding! kathy

August Linky Party: Fall/Back to School Theme

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to the August Linky Party and DT Challenge! Our theme for this month is Fall/Back to School.  As summer winds down, we look forward to all the special things that Fall has to offer: crystal clear blue skies, gently turning leaves, a delightful crispness to the air, and kids heading back to school.  There's the fresh apple crop to celebrate, fat orange pumpkins fill the fields, sunflowers put on a final flashy show and the geese begin their long journey southward.  So many wonderful images to choose from within this theme.  We're inviting you to join the party, and have provided some wonderful inspirational projects to fire your imagination.

If you don't have any Crafty Secrets products, here's a free digital image for you to use in this challenge.  Just right click and download to your computer, then print out and use it in a card, a project or a layout.  Of course, you don't have to follow the fall theme, but it's always fun if you do.  Feel free to use whatever Crafty Secrets goodies you have in your stash! I have always loved these beautiful fall flowers, and thought I would share them here with you.
The design team found some wonderful fall themed papers and images when they created their projects for this challenge.  They've each prepared a wonderful tutorial to inspire your creativity.  Just click on the links below to visit their blogs.

DT Leader, Kathy Clement used our Letterpress Digital Papers to create this easel and box, and has a tutorial on making a fancy rosette without using a cutting die.

Darlene Pavlick created this super cute notepad using images from our Childhood Vintage Images booklet and shares a tutorial so you can make one, too!

Printer's Trays are always a great way to decorate your home, and DT member Diane Hover has created a lovely wall hanging using images from our fall printable sheet to inspire your creativity.

Fall is the perfect time to throw a wine tasting party, and Elizabeth Lincoln used our Wine Lovers digital art stamps to create a wonderful invitation and wine charms.  I think this set is so much more usable in digital format.  I've always loved that background scene, but it was so tiny on the stamp, you really couldn't appreciate it. Her tutorial will show you how to add dimension to your stamped images.

Gloria Stengel  has had a ball playing with papers from our Creating With Vintage Patterns CD, and has a tutorial for making this amazing fall themed mini album. Her tutorial will show you how to make the book binding, and give you tips for printing your papers.

Melody Clement has created a stunning piece of home decor to welcome fall.  Her tutorial will give you tips for saving ink and paper when you are printing digital items.

This adorable easel school card by Michele Kovack also uses images from our Childhood Vintage Images and Journal Notes booklet.  Don't you just love the darling banner?

And since great minds think alike, Shantaie Fowler  used this same image to create an adorable box of colorful crayons.

Sheila Rumney has a digital tutorial showing how to use Photoshop to create matching digital cardstock and then add texture to it. She altered papers from our Digital Thankgiving Collection.I love the way she used our free download in this layout!

Wow!  That's a lot of creative inspiration for you to enjoy.  Once you've visited all the blogs, we'd love you to come join the party.  The rules are simple.  Just create a NEW project featuring Crafty Secrets products and link it up here on the Heartwarming Vintage blog using the Linky Tool below.  Be sure to link back to the Crafty Secrets blog in your post, and let us know what product you've used in your project.

We're going to keep the party open until midnight Sunday, August 17th so you'll have plenty of time to join the fun. The members of the design team will be stopping by your blogs to enjoy your handiwork and one participant will be randomly selected to win a $50 shopping spree at the Crafty Secrets store. Everyone who plays along will receive a $6 store credit.  The winner will be announced on this blog on Tuesday, August 19th.

Sorry -it appears we had a little issue with Linky Tools and some of the entries were accidentally deleted. If you have linked up a project, please check the blog and re-link if necessary. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience

Summertime, DT Samples and Pinterest

Hello, Friends!

I hope you all are having a good week. The summer is passing by so quickly.  Some kids here in North Carolina are already back in school.  It seems like the long, lazy days of summer are a thing of the past.  I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood summers: swimming in the pool, playing kickball with all the neighborhood kids, staying up late to catch lightning bugs and play hide and go seek....those were good times!

Speaking of summertime, I want to remind you that Sandy has a fantastic offer going on in the Crafty Secrets online store.   With every order you place, you will receive a FREE download of our gorgeous Digital Summer Printable. There are 12 different vintage images printed in high resolution on this sheet along with several words and phrases that you can add to your cards, scrapbooking layouts and mixed media projects.  Here's a peek at what you get:

I used the beautiful phlox seed packet to make this vintage card:

I also want to remind you that we have a fabulous Crafty Secrets page on Pinterest!  If you visit this page, you'll find dozens of samples, inspiration and tutorials galore!  Sandy even has a tutorial that explains how to use the FREE paint.net program to work with digital product.
http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/39/89/3c/39893c1fdb62ff441050183e9a6a3e95.jpg

You can while away the last few days of summer learning how to create with digital images and relax while getting great ideas to use in your craft room.

Don't forget that the August Linky party is just a few days away.  Hoping you'll be playing along with us this month.  A $50 prize goes a long way in our online store.

Thanks for stopping by!
